Q: How does the custom drum design process work?

A: First, you send us your designs, which could include photos, drawings, or even just a few written ideas. Email is the easiest way to send them but regular mail works also. The pictures can be any hobbies, interests, or designs that you would like to have on your drum. Next we’ll draw your designs on the steel and email back to you for approval. Once you are satisfied with the artwork, we roll the drum, weld it together, and do the cutting. I also sign each custom piece with the plasma cutter.

For an extra $100 to $150 depending on artwork required, you can create your own custom coolfires designs. Examples can be seen here Customers are always encouraged to be involved in the design process.

Q: Can I purchase a Coolfires campfire drum on its own without accessory package?

A: Yes. The cost of one of our pre-designed drums is $375 Canadian

Q: Am I allowed to have a fire in in my backyard?

A: It is essential to consult your local bylaws, as they vary from one community to the next. Many areas allow wood burning for cooking purposes and the propane gas model can be used anywhere a BBQ is allowed.

Q: Can I leave my Coolfires outside?

A: Absolutely, it’s made entirely from stainless steel so is virtually indestructible. There is no need to bring it in out of the rain or snow.

Q: What is the best surface to place my Coolfires on?

A: If you are not placing your campfire drum on concrete or a similar type of surface, use the heat shield as it does an excellent job of insulating between the campfire drum and whatever surface you are using it on. For example, if the heat shield is put on 4 bricks (or similar) and the water level is kept at 3/4 full or more, almost no heat will radiate through. Also, if you are concerned with escaping sparks, consider the spark arrester accessory.
