The spark arrestor is a domed screen designed to stop most sparks and coals that are ejected from your fire when the wood “pops”. Some small sparks escape the screen but will usually extinguish 2 or 3 feet above the screen. The screen is to be used as a guard against medium to large sparks only. It does not serve a complete spark suppressor. Even when using a screen, the fire still requires your undivided attention and respect.

The screen simply sits on top of the coolfires drum to catch the sparks. When you want to add more wood, use the handle / poker (supplied with screen) to remove screen. Add your wood and return screen to drum. For storage, just flip screen upside down and place inside drum. If you ever damage the mesh on your spark screen, it has been desing so that you can replace individual panels rather than the whole screen. Just contact us at sales@coolfires.com.
